Along with our ‘beach dude’ (yes, that’s their offical job title) ensuring you have drinks whenever you need, what more would you need to ‘sunbathe in luxury’?! New General Managers – Chris Relf & Sarah WattsJanuary 3rd, 2013July 12th 2012 Sarah has been in the hospitality industry for over 20 years and has a wealth of experience. She started with Virgin Hotels in the early 1990′s in Food and Beverage and gradually worked her way through all departments, to finally end up at the top of the tree, as such. In more recent years she was F&B Manager at Bitter End Yacht Club in the British Virgin Island, spent 1 year at Ritz Carlton in the US Virgin Islands then returned to the BVI as F&B Director / Assistant GM at Biras Creek Resort. Chris has spent many years in IT, starting in basic IT support back in the late 1980′s and ended up project managing global multi-million dollar technical projects for corporate companies such as Unilever, Gillette, Duracell and Mercedes Benz. He then turned his talents to the hospitality industry working in Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, Vanuatu, the BVI and Fiji, gaining a vast knoweldge of many areas across several industries. Chris & Sarah met in the BVI and have recently returned ‘home’ to the Caribbean after managing resorts in Fiji for 3 years. They actually stayed at Ti Kaye as guests back in 2006 and are very excited not only to be back in the Caribbean, but even more so in beautiful St. Lucia, and escpecially at the stunning Ti Kaye Resort & Spa! On top of it allDecember 21st, 2012The Kai Koko spa at Ti Kai Village has just two treatment rooms, but they’re transcendent, perched high on a cliff, overlooking the Caribbean. Ti Kai means “little house” in Creole, and the cozy, boutique resort is a collection of 33 gingerbread-style cottages on a bluff above the popular beach, Anse Cochon. Ti Kaye has its own inviting open-air restaurant serving fresh seafood with Creole influences, a large, underground wine cellar and a pretty pool tucked among tropical flora. Guest rooms with balconies are staggered up the hill, looking out over trees to water. Each is like a treehouse escape — with a hammock. Eleven of the cottages also have private plunge pools. At Kai Koko, each treatment room is in a separate building, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the bay. A Balinese massage, from a tiny but startlingly strong Balinese woman, starts with a choice of aromatic oils: lemongrass, papaya basil, chocolate, mint, ylang ylang or honey-vanilla. On the massage table, with your face in the rest, you look down at a hibiscus in a vase and a mirror strategically placed to reflect the view of the bay and beach. It is possibly the most wonderful treatment room I’ve ever visited, and that was certainly the only time I’ve kept my eyes open during a massage.
