Things to Do
Discovering Saint Lucia via Ti Kaye
‘The world is a book, those who do not travel read only one page.’ Saint Augustine
On the volcanic island of Saint Lucia situated on the Caribbean archipelago with the Atlantic Ocean on the East coast and the Caribbean Sea on the West, the island’s rich heritage is influenced by strong African, Indian and European cultures. With topography so distinct and varied, Saint Lucia’s landscape is a riddled with mountains, waterfalls, valleys and many beaches; from soft white sand to glistening dark silver grey sands, a direct result of the islands volcanoes. With so much to see, Saint Lucia is the ideal island escape.
To achieve the perfect vacation on the perfect island, finding the idyllic resort is half the challenge. Ti Kaye Village Resort & Spa is truly made with the romantic-at-heart in mind with private gingerbread cottages on the cliffside all with a spectacular unobstructed ocean view, a distinguished underground wine cellar, a unique spa oasis and secluded silver sand beach; one of the best on the island for snorkelling and diving. Ti Kaye offers its guests a variety of soft adventure excursions to complete their vacation experience. See listings for more information.
We don’t believe that a vacation is just the resort, the beach and the food. Yes that’s an important part and can be everything however, there is much more to a vacation that these things. You’ve worked hard all year and planned this vacation for a long time so don’t lose the opportunity to see and do more and learn about St.Lucia and its people.
This being our belief, we have put together a resort and a bunch of things to see and do that will really make your vacation here not just a destination but a learning experience and one that you will delight in doing.
Our selection process is rigorous by island standards and we tend to go with ones that are either home grown or non main stream and that offer a certain charm and character. We did it this way so that our guests would not be thrown in with the masses on the other main stream tours offered on island. That way, we have become more personalized and the people with you will most likely be other guests at the resort.
Follow the links on this page for details of our tours. You can book them in advance or when you get here. Try one or 2 of them and see the island while you are here, St Lucia is beautiful.
A RANGE OF TOURS ON OFFER
The Land and Sea tour is quite popular, if you don’t want to go on the land and sea, you can book a boat to take you anywhere. In fact you can do this with almost all the tours i.e. build your own and have them personalised. Just ask when you get there and I’m sure the front office will get you sorted out.

The Beach
Ti Kaye is located in a bay called “Anse Cochon” which translated means “bay of pigs”. It has always been one of the more popular beaches to visit on the west coast of St.Lucia. During the day we get a few visitors. Since we are a volcanic island, the dark (basalt) rocks produce a black sand. This mixed with the coral sand gives us the silver or gray sand you find on our beach. Watch out, it gets really hot during the day so wear slippers. We don’t doctor the pictures of the beach on this site. It looks lighter in colour when it is dry and darker when wet. It will never be a white sand beach nor will we attempt to make it so.
There are 166 steps down to the beach. Going down is easy; it’s coming back up that’s hard so just take your time. We don’t have a shuttle, however, if you are unable to make it, ask one of the staff to get you a ride. There is always a vehicle around that can help you back up.
On the beach you will find chairs, side tables, portable umbrellas and kayaks (and a volley ball court). The dive shop also has snorkeling gear and there are some good reefs with in swimming distance from the shore line. There are other beaches south of us and some venture to them on a kayak. Please let us know if you are going and how long you will be for safety sake.
You will also meet the Terry and Damian; they work for Ti Kaye. It’s mostly Terry’s turf; Damian fills in on his days off. They are both excellent people and will get you sorted right out with whatever your needs are, so look out for them. In case you are wondering, that is their official title.
Lastly, please know that all beaches on St.Lucia are public. We are secluded but not private so we do have others to share the beach with, and that includes the other guys on the beach. Most of them look intimidating at first but they are pretty much all polite and don’t really harass anyone. Their purpose in life is to sell souvenirs mainly to visiting boats. However when the boats are not around, they do tend to venture on to the beach dudes turf. If you are not interested, say so and they will leave you alone. If you have concerns, lets us know and we can get it sorted out for you.
