Ti Kaye’s Favourite Dive Sites Around Anse Cochon
It’s November, and in honour of celebrating the recent 31-year anniversary of the (intentional) sinking of the Lesleen M, now is the perfect time to talk about some of our favourite Saint Lucian dive sites!
Starting with Anse Cochon itself, this reef is right off our beach and has a wide range of scenery. Starting in as little as 5ft/1.5M of water and progressing to around 60ft/18M, there are patches of coral, large fields of boulders and sandy areas. This is a great snorkeling site and we regularly see Turtles, Trumpet fish, Moray Eels, Octopus, Squid and much more.
Rosemond’s Trench is very close to Anse Cochon and the coral found here are shaped like the fingers of a hand with valleys and trenches in between. There is also a small tunnel leading into a chimney, home to seahorses, frogfish, turtles, and an abundance of tropical fish.
Of course, there are our two House Reefs, so close and easy you can just grab a snorkel and jump in. The Lesleen M is also close by, and one of our favourite signature dives. We’ve written about the wreck at length, and this year marks the 31st anniversary since she was (intentionally) sunk.
And these are just the tip of the island! There’s a whole lot more to explore…contact us today to learn about our diving packages.
