We are proud to have a number of green initiatives in place to be as environmentally friendly as possible, including extensive recycling and composting programs, using solar power, sourcing local produce, switching to LED lighting, and more.

A big piece of who we are is our sense of social responsibility, so it should come as no surprise that our focus on wellness extends to our staff. We have a number of programs in place to encourage the wellness of our staff. Every Wednesday free yoga classes are provided for our employees. Our HR department also runs a health fair for staff, providing full check-ups for free to promote physical strength and well-being.

We strive to operate within a circle of kindness at Ti Kaye: to nature, to one another, to our guests. We hope you feel that during your stay.

After surfacing, the Caradonna Adventurer zooms in on Ti Kaye perched on the hillside and begins the description of our property, generously describing our accommodations, spa, restaurants, and wine cellar.

Of course, Ti Kaye is not just the ideal place for a dive vacation because of our property. Our dive shop, Island Divers, provides everything you could need for diving the best of St. Lucia. KEEPING TI KAYE GREEN: STAYING SUSTAINABILE https://www.tikaye.com/blog/keeping-ti-kaye-green-staying-sustainabile/ https://www.tikaye.com/blog/keeping-ti-kaye-green-staying-sustainabile/#respond Tue, 19 Dec 2017 13:00:13 +0000 https://www.tikaye.com/?p=5283

Read More]]> From Recycling Initiatives to Making Ti Kaye Water

Keeping Ti Kaye Resort & Spa eco-friendly is something we are deeply passionate about. Staying sustainable is a never-ending project we happily face day-to-day.

One of the ways we work to stay as green as possible includes having our own brackish well and reverse-osmosis desalination plant (meaning we make our own water). We encourage guests to drink our water, but we also sell plastic water bottles on site for those who prefer it.

Another important aspect of our philosophy is to locally-source products and ingredients whenever possible, from growing our own herbs in our garden, to sourcing ingredients and spa products from Saint Lucian farms and businesses.

In February 2016, Ti Kaye Resort & Spa partnered with Our Planet so we could kick off the Ti Kaye Hotel Recycling Initiative, the first of its kind in Saint Lucia. We now recycle up to 80% of the waste from all major hotels on Saint Lucia!

And did we mention that we started installing solar panels? There’s always something more than can be done to help save the environment!

Read More]]> Ti Kaye’s Favourite Dive Sites South of Anse Cochon

Since diving is one of our most popular activities at Ti Kaye, it’s time we started talking about some of our favourite sites along the southern area of Saint Lucia’s shores.

Now, you would think that Turtle Reef would have earned its name because there are turtles, but that’s not the case. Instead, the site offers pillar corals and barrel sponges in the shallows, with an abundance of marine life, perfect for ‘critter spotting’ dives.

Grande Caille, also referred to as “The Big House”, starts at about 40 feet on a terrace and moves out to the lip of a steep slope turn into a wall, with the lip at about 50 feet. This is a very popular dive because of its abundance of fish and coral.

Another popular dive is Trou Diable, Creole name for “Devil’s Hole.” A very easy going dive with flat coral reef at around 40ft/12M, however the maximum depth is over 100ft/30M. Features of the dive are Finger Coral, Brain Coral, Barrel Sponges, the usual tropical fish and on a lucky day maybe as many as three turtles.

As mentioned in our last post, there’s never a shortage of great dives off Saint Lucia. Check out other Saint Lucian dive sites on our website if you would like to learn more!
